I took a cue from Wynn and decided to rent some webspace from A Small Orange.  I figured if I ponied up some cash for an online presence, I might be more inclined to take advantage of it.

My plan is to use arichards.org to showcase some of the CAR work I do for the Las Vegas Sun and link to a few projects that make me jealous.  I also want to start developing in Django; I caught a huge break and ended up interning and then getting hired in Vegas at the same time the paper was amassing some of the finest online/new media talent out there.  I won’t name-drop, but you know who you are.  Our new site (and new online everything, basically) is Django-based and should launch in the first week of January.  I need to start learning how to bring my CAR projects to the web — I’m way behind the times.

Oh, I’m Alex, by the way.  I’ve been living in Sin City for almost seven months, working for one of the two main dailies here.  Living here, you could be anywhere.  Except there are slot machines at all grocery stores and pharmacies (true), and the neighborhood Chevron has its own sports book (plausible).
